Ann Toole is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional. Working for her city's parks and recreation department as a high school student launched her lifelong career in parks and recreation. The range of her work includes recreation leadership, aquatics, maintenance, and planning in municipal, county, regional, state, and national parks and recreation organizations in the public, non-profit, and private sectors in the northeastern United States. She was a municipal park and recreation director, managed the Land & Water Conservation Fund for New Jersey, and was the Division Chief of Community Recreation Planning for the National Park service. She founded Toole Recreation Planning on 1992 to pursue her goal of making public parks and recreation the best part of everyone's day. She has been the initiator and contributor to all of Pennsylvania's major parks and recreation initiatives since founding her firm including the Pennsylvania Park Maintenance Institute, the Good For You, Good for All campaign, the Pennsylvania Urban Parks and Recreation Alliance, and the Agency of the Year Award.
